Week Three

The babies are 3 weeks old today. They are now outside with the big buns, and except for being smaller, they pretty much act like one of the big dogs now. They had been in a solid bottom cage with pine shavings, so moving to the wire cage was a bit....comical. They couldn't figure out how they were suppose to walk on it, and "army crawled" along on it for the first day. Now they just zip around. They are eating Timothy Hay, pellets, and they drink water out of the crock--which is really cute because they have to stand up on their hind legs to get a drink--its a really tall crock.
We sexed them this morning, and it looks as though we have 3 bucks, including the sport, and 2 does.

These are the cleanest, fattiest, babies we have ever had. She even licks them like a cat. They usually just ignore them completely unless they are feeding them.

This is so interesting! They are too cute. Thanks for sharing. I can just picture in my head about the babies getting used to that new cage and the water crock!
